North Fraser Ministry Director

Matt was born and raised in Surrey, making the transition out to Chilliwack with his family in 2014 after graduating from Bethany Bible College in Hepburn, SK. Youth ministry has always been a passion of his, being involved in youth leadership teams as a senior high student, to graduating with a bachelor of arts in pastoral ministry with a concentration in youth. He has previously held youth director roles at different churches, but for the last 2 years he has been framing chicken barns in the Fraser Valley. Realizing that chickens aren’t too engaging in conversation, he felt the call back to youth ministry. He finds it an absolute privilege to walk alongside our youth as they navigate the messiness of life and grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus.

Matt is married to Natasha, and they have a 1 year old son named Elijah, who looks forward to becoming a big brother in the spring of 2023. In his spare time, Matt enjoys hiking, rock climbing, fishing (if only he could catch something), and traveling with his family. One of his favorite bible verses is Romans 5:6-8, which says, “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
