Ron van Akker

Ron has been part of the Central ministry team since 2006. He currently serves as our Executive Pastor overseeing ministry and staffing at our five campuses. Ron joined Central having come from Willingdon Church in Burnaby after receiving a call to serve as Central’s lead pastor. Given to celebrating people and helping them find their full potential in Christ, Ron finds joy in the coaching and leadership aspects of his role. Seeing people embrace relationship with Jesus and the fruit that follows is a highlight for him.

When not at work Ron can be found riding his motorcycle, bicycling with his spouse of 40 years, Sherrie, or baking sourdough bread. Ron is a lifelong learner and as well as theological degrees holds a Bachelor in Hamburgerology from McDonald’s University. Ron has served in various volunteer roles including Moderator of the BC Conference of MB Churches, and professionally as the Executive Conference Minister. His favourite verse Ephesians 4:13 - “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
