Kurtus joined the team at Central in late 2022, and has served in pastoral ministry since 2013 after spending the previous eight years as a nurse. He absolutely loves the privilege of serving Jesus and His bride, the church.

Kurtus is married to his amazing wife and best friend Dana, and together they have two beautiful children: their daughter Rory and their son Brock. Together they enjoy going for family walks, playing board games, and spending time with their church family. There are few things in ministry that are sweeter to Kurtus than discipling other believers and walking through the highs and lows of life with his brothers and sisters in Christ. He believes that discipleship is a loving and personal way to foster faith in Jesus Christ by helping others develop a deeper love for God, His Word, and His people.

By God's grace, Kurtus has been spared numerous significant health challenges, and he is thankful to have met God powerfully and intimately in his sufferings. He wouldn't trade those experiences for anything, because in them he has truly learned what it means to completely rely on God's strength and God's will for his life. Because of this, Kurtus loves to hear the stories of others and is always eager to discover how we can carry each other's burdens and glorify Christ in the process as the church.

Outside of ministry, Kurtus enjoys cheering for the Montreal Canadiens, honing his gift of sarcasm, and loves going to the movies (more so for the popcorn than the movie itself).
