Jonathan Kornelsen

Jon grew up in Chilliwack, BC and has called Central his home church since he was a teenager. God called him towards youth ministry as a high school student while attending Central Youth and attended Columbia Bible College and Prairie Bible College (Distant Ed) where he studied Youth Work and Worship Arts.  Altogether Jon has been a part of vocational youth ministry for the last 18 years (12 years at Central) and just recently returned to school, obtaining a Masters in Youth and Young Adult Ministry from Souix Falls Seminary and The Coalition for Youth Ministry Excellence.

Jon is married to Heather and together they have four adopted children who keep them busy and on their toes. During his spare time you can catch Jon fly fishing local lakes, camping with his family, or working on projects around the house with his dad. Continually involved in many community events over the years, Jon has served on a number conference boards where he chaired the BCMB Bible Camp Society, and is currently a member of the mentoring team with Youth Workers Community that helps advise and encourage youth pastors across western Canada.
