There has never been a more difficult time to try and help and support our community which means there has never been a more important time to do it! Jesus calls us to love our neighbours, not just when it is easy or convenient to do so. Jesus loved us when we were very difficult to love and was willing to go out of his way for us. Let us take up his example and share the love of Jesus this Christmas season!
At Central we want to bless our neighbours around us and so we have partnered with a number of different places in our communities in order to help those in need during this holiday season. We are partnering with the Kwíyeqel Secondary School, Cyrus Centre, CMS Hangouts, and the Salvation Army in Chilliwack, Families from Promontory, the Agassiz and Harrison Community Services, and with the Lake Errock Food Sustainability Program. We are excited about the opportunity God has given us in many different places to share the love of Jesus this Christmas!
Our goal this year is to provide at least 250 hampers for families all across the Eastern Fraser Valley! This means, we need your help! There are a number of ways you can get involved with this effort to support these families. Start by simply picking up a Backpack of Hope from one of our in-person services, November 19 to December 3. Then, fill up the backpack with some of the suggested food items and return the bag by Dec 10. If it your donation doesn’t fit into one bag, no problem! Grab an extra bag or use some of your own and bring them in so that it can be sorted and distributed. Alternatively, if you aren’t able to donate food items in-person, this year you can donate online and some of our amazing volunteers will pick up extra food and supplies with the donations.
We want to bless our communities with our generosity but also with our care around this time.
Thank you so much for your generosity and we are excited to see what God will do!
