Advent | Christ Our Light

Advent | Christ Our Light
Christ Our Light is our five-part Advent series that guides you through the story of Christ’s coming by reflecting on the meaning behind each Advent candle.
Each week illuminates a key aspect of God’s redemptive plan—revealing how Jesus fulfills ancient prophecy, enters our world in humility, brings joy to the lowly, offers peace from heaven, and ultimately shines in the darkness as the eternal Light of the world.

ADVENT DEVOTIONAL
This Advent Devotional serves as a companion to the series for you to utilize on your own, with your household, and/or with your Life Group each week. Each week of Advent you are invited to read the Scriptures, reflect on the devotional, light the Advent candle, and pray.
Let this season draw you closer to Christ—our true Light who shines in the darkness.
SONGS FOR THE SEASON
Advent has begun and to help you make room in your hearts for the arrival of Jesus we’ve created a Spotify Advent playlist. In it you’ll find centuries-old classics and recent originals.
Play it while you light the Advent candles, during your morning commute, or in the quiet evening hours. Let the harmonies turn your heart towards the promise of the Jesus.
24 HOUR PRAYER
Participate in 24 Hour Prayer in the lead up to Christmas
There is a unique openness to Jesus at Christmas unlike any other time of the year and we invite you to participate in intercessory prayer in the lead up to our Christmas Eve services.
We believe in the power of prayer and that our Heavenly Father loves to hear the requests of His children. We also know that every significant move of God can be traced back to a remnant of people seeking the Lord and praying for renewal and revival.
Since our aim as a church is to see the eastern Fraser Valley transformed by the gospel for the glory of God and good of all people, we invite you to participate in 24-hours of unceasing prayer for our church and our city in the lead up to Christmas Eve.
Starting Tuesday, December 23 | 8.00AM
Please select 1 or more half-hour time slots.
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES
We would love to have you join us for Christmas Eve as we celebrate the birth of Christ. Dress however is comfortable for you and expect a one-hour service filled with carols, candlelight, an element for the kids, and a brief Christmas message.

If Central is your home church, consider parking furthest away as a way of showing hospitality to guests, squish in close to your neighbours to make room at the end of rows of seating for others, and be invitational to people in your life who may be open to coming to church to hear about Jesus this Christmas. Jesus came at Christmas and still draws near in powerful ways this time of year.
If you plan on attending one of our Chilliwack Campus services, please consider attending the 4.30pm or 6.00pm service if you are able. This will help us balance out attendance more evenly and keep from overflow at the earliest one.
From all the pastors and staff of Central Community Church, we want to wish you a Merry Christmas filled with the love and hope that is found in Christ Jesus, the reason we celebrate!
