We have no higher calling and no greater purpose than to be a part of the movement that Jesus established to reach and transform the world: The Church.

MISSION

If we’re honest, our vision that aims to see the entire eastern Fraser Valley transformed by the gospel for the glory of God and good of all people seems like nothing short of a pipe dream and an impossibility. Almost as impossible as a valley of dry bones being brought back to life. Yet God can do both. What if we actually believed that our community could be transformed by the gospel and we lived to that end?

The gospel is not about what you must do to be made right with God but about faith in what Jesus has already done to make you right with God. Every other philosophy of religion says “do” but Jesus says it’s “done”; they say “work” but Jesus says “rest”; they say “strive” but Jesus says “it is finished”. We are centred on the gospel because the gospel changes absolutely everything.

Charles Spurgeon calls the Church “the dearest place on earth to us.” Have you ever seen the Church through this lens? If not, what’s stopping you? When you consider being gathered in community with the local church, do you bristle? Or does your heart leap with joy? The reality is that as the gathered community of the Church, we are called to “stir one another to love and good works” and “encourage one another” as we wait for Christ. So embrace these joyful commands and pray that Jesus would indeed make His Church, the dearest place on earth to you.

Like a football team running a play, everyone in the church has a role to play. Paul entrusted the gospel to Timothy and instructed him to teach it to others who would then also teach it to others. When we recognize that Jesus established the church in such a way that everyone is a minister with a ministry, we grow as disciples, the church is strengthened, and the Great Commission gets fulfilled.
